I've been a loyal customer at Kanishka for over 20 years, starting as a kid and visiting 2–5 times a month on average, which adds up to roughly 400–600 visits! It's hands-down my favorite Indian restaurant, and my family and I happily drive more than an hour each way just for a meal here because the food is that outstanding. In all those visits, the quality has been consistently exceptional: always fresh, bursting with flavor, and paired with fantastic service from the staff. They've never let us down. I'm aware of the recent reports about illnesses linked to their special Fusion Thanksgiving Feast (a one-time menu for pickup/delivery). As a local family-owned business, I know how much negative publicity can hurt, especially when it's tied to a limited event. From my extensive personal experience with their regular dining, I've never had any issues, Kanishka clearly prioritizes food safety and quality, and I've always felt confident in their standards! P.S always recommend the daal makhni for veg option and either chicken tikka or butter chicken for meat, lamb is also great!
PLEASE REQUEST SUNNY AS YOUR SERVER! The food is absolutely luxurious and flavorful, that’s a given. But the service is out of this world. It’s like being at your cousin’s house where the hospitality is palpable and you’re addicted to coming time and time again for the vibes. Never a miss here, save yourself the trouble and COME NOW!!
I visited this place recently after seeing some confusing news online, so I wanted to experience it myself. In reality, the restaurant is clean, well managed, and has an Excellent food safety rating from King County Public Health, which is clearly displayed. The food was really good. I especially loved the sizzlers, baingan bharta, and in desserts the shahi tukda was amazing. The chikoo shake is a must-try. Overall, my experience was very positive. It’s important not to believe everything that goes viral on social media. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again.
This was my second time at Kanishka, and it completely changed my mind about the place—180 degrees. My first visit wasn’t very impressive, but this time was outstanding. Sunny truly made the experience a success. He was incredibly attentive and caring, and his recommendations were spot on. We tried the Murg Hariyali Kabaab, a grilled chicken marinated in cilantro, and the Bhuna Gosht, a rich and flavorful goat stew—both were absolutely delicious. The mango lassi was amazing, and the garlic naan and samosas were mouthwatering as well. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
This is easily the best Indian food I’ve ever had and hands down my favorite go-to spot. The environment is warm and welcoming, the service is consistently excellent, and the food is always outstanding. I’ve been here many times and have never had a bad experience. Everything is flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. I’ve heard some people question the quality, but that has not been my experience at all, complete the opposite. Every visit has been amazing, and I confidently recommend this place to anyone looking for top-tier Indian food!!
A bunch of friends and I were craving Indian cuisine so we came here. We ordered lamb samosas, cauliflower, vanilli beef and goat, cheese and plain rotis, fish saag, paneer biryani. The appetizers were good, our favorite was easily the cauliflower, great sauce and doesn't taste like vegetables at all. The samosa was ok, was lacking a little bit in the spices and flavor but not bad. Our main dishes were all very good. Our favorite was probably the paneer bryiyani. Really good flavor and the paneer was fresh. The fish saag I also recommend, goes really well with the roti, almost like fish in chutney sauce. Probably our least favorite item was the vindaloo. They had large pieces of bone on the meat so it made it hard to eat and I wasn't big on the sauce. What kind of dragged it down is it was not spicy hot like we wanted, maybe because we're white LOL, but we like it spicy hot and the level 4 was unnoticeable. Overall a great place to get Indian food in the Seattle area, probably come back again when we crave it. I still think Vancouver BC has the best but this is a close second.
This place is hands down one of the best Indian spots in the area! Great value for money with generous portions and top-notch quality. We tried the dal makhani and rice—both were absolutely delicious. The menu is vast with plenty of options to choose from, catering to every palate. The service is excellent, the place is usually full and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. If you’re craving Indian food, this spot is a must-try. You can even customize the spice level to suit your taste—highly recommended!
Delicious North Indian food. Vegetarian entrees are $19-20, veg appetizer was $15-18, naans were very pricey at $6.50. Quantity was less but very delicious food. Complimentary rice alongside helped bulk up. We were celebrating a birthday so we also got a complimentary piece of rasmalai. Order total was $95 excluding tip. We were quite happy with the tasty food and excellent service & we will return again for our next celebration.
